Sorry. I mistakenly thought you meant direct taxes, income tax and so on.
The easy way to avoid such charges is to resist buying stuff from abroad. However, bear in mind that trade with the EU was by no means "free". The country paid about £10bn a year for the privilege. Instead of everybody paying that sum through general taxation the government is now collecting it and keeping it for use in the UK.
In any case, my decision to vote to leave, as I've said before, was to do with more than just trade. It's no great shakes to pay an extra few quid for purchases and if it frees us from the shenanigans of the Euromaniacs (adequately demonstrated a couple of weeks ago) it's money well spent.
