Offensive Tweet About Sir Tom Moore

Why are some people so vile?
A man has been charged for tweeting 'The only good Brit soldier is a dead one, burn old fella burn', just what was he thinking by saying something so wicked, if it wasn't for servicemen like Sir Tom then this fool would likely be under German rule!

Yes, thanks for that, although that was established in the OP - but should he have been?
The point is, in my mind at least, as scummy as the person is and his comments were, does this really warrant the time and expense to arrest him, and the time and expense to go to court?
Would the same pitchforkness be applied if the subject of the horrible tweet was not as popular as Sir Tom? (I'll answer that for you - No).

As i have said previously up here in Glasgow we have IRA scum marching bands and eejits hanging Irish rags out their windows. Most have never been near Ireland in their wastrel lives.Tell them to move over to Ireland if they love the place so much and they tell you they would, but the dole money over there is a pittance compared to what they can scrounge of us British mug taxpayers.Scum.

Capt Tom ,the archetypal, English gentleman, walked the length of his children's house 100 times.
Fantastic and to be applauded and totally appreciated, but tobe fair there are hundreds, thousands ,tens of thousands ot such characters in th UK.
Then the media took over and the rest is history.
The Glaswegian, poorly educated, no friend of the English and as thick as two short planks explodes with Shakespearian eleoquence.
Nasty, inappropriate but not worthy of the publicity that he is getting.

Or maybe the publicity is a reap what you sow" thing. And that's his own fault.
Unfortunately lol, it's a similar principle to a recent thread, where everyone totally disagreed with me.
But, I still think we need to differentiate between words and actions, when deciding what a "crime" should be.
What should it be for making a sick joke on fb?
