I'm not a particular fan of Piers M. and I don't watch Gmtv, but I do pick up what he says and I am disturbed, to say the least, that a non-conformist voice is being silenced. Freedom of speech is essential in a healthy society - even if it offends - mind/opinion control beckons and that way opens the door to totalitarianism and intolerance.

5 leaves , there's quite a lot saying it and they weren't there , I'm no great fan of PM at all but as I said , it was very lively when he was on, I'd imagine Susanna Reid is breathing a sigh of relief tonight
I do not know, as yet, if Piers has resigned or was told to resign. I watch very little of his tv work and do not have many feelings for him either way. I know he likes to over talk some of the people he interviews but the same could be said for people like Jeremy Paxman and many political interviewers.
But, if he has resigned as a matter of principle then I admire him for it. There isn't so much integrity around these days and he potentially has surrendered a large income.
His replacement needs to be someone who can continue to challenge without fear nor favour.
Why would someone in the public eye say something personal about themselves knowing that millions of people are going to watch and lie about it. Would people have preferred to see a public meltdown, Britney Spears style?
No!! I loved watching him tear people apart. Susanna hasn't quite got that command.
And I too hope it's not Schofield. GMB needs someone who isn't afraid of going in for the kill.
