The more we allow the virus to proliferate, giving it more and more breeding grounds, the more likely we are to facilitate the generation of a dangerous variant. This is a real threat.
The threat is from Covid Deniers - there's a few on this site (I won't name names as they know who they are, and they wear it as a badge), but how did we get to the point where aiding the enemy was acceptable.

Masks are not a means of preventing proliferation. During the first lockdown, masks were not compulsory, few people were wearing them, and the death rate dropped to near single figures. Has that fact, yes fact, been missed by everyone?

The total number of deaths in the UK occurring in March and April 2020 that were registered by 15 May 2020 was 147,785; this is 44,449 (43.0%) more than the average for the same time period over the last five years, 2015 to 2019. (Source:ONS).
