During January of this year, Beef exports to the EU fell by 91.5%, Cheese by 85.1% and Pork by 86.9% - some exports such as breeding animals, seed potatoes and certified seeds stopped entirely – with a total loss of export value of around £100 million (source: Private Eye).

Who amongst us would be stupid enough to vote leave?

Try researching how many export markets have opened up for British produce, mainly due to the efforts of Liz Truss, since we left Hymie.
Shoota; if you've already researched that, perhaps you could help by posting your results.
Prince Charles started a business back in 1990 ( Duchy Originals) "organic food" the masses in this country could not afford to buy it. It was sold in high end stores Harrods, Ford and Mason,. In about 2007/8 the business was in trouble, and Waitrose bought the brand, and still have it to this day, but so expensive, way out of reach for most. The only upside was that X amount was given to charity so I'm lead to believe, about 6/7 million over 17 years, not a great amount. May be if Charles had used his farm empire to produce food for the masses other than the well to do, we would not have to rely so much on imports. I believe the brand still exports most of its products although Charles has little to do with it now other than holding ones hand out for his share from Waitrose.
Thanks, TTT; the link led to a 31 Jan article. Has Liz got any further with her planned 40% of the world's GDP?
Has she managed to get any signed up deals yet?
TC: "Ford and Mason" - is that like Fortnum & Mason?
That is nothing compared to the impact that the forthcoming CANZUK alliance will have on our trade opportunities Tora. A truly prosperous future is guaranteed. I see that the French farmers are all rioting and demonstrating again ... because they have to get competitive without our money propping up the ponzi agricultural racket making it easy for them. Warning ... None of the snippets of information or views above were sourced from a comic or students rag leaflet and Billy The Fish is not really a goalie.
teacake; If Charles' cheese is too expensive for you don't buy it, he doesn't have a monopoly, there's hundreds of alternatives. See webbo's second link above.
I like the bit about "freedom of movement act" the brexiteers, voted for, to keep the E/u immigrants out of UK . But unknowingly kept them selves outside of most of Europe.
khandro Trust me, I've a lot of experience in the food industry, and the Duchy brand is expensive for one reason only, there are far better products on the market for far far less. The Duchy product is purchased for prestige only.
Running a whelk stall in Margate doesn’t really count as food industry experience, Teacake.
Did you step out of bed or fall on your head?
Gulliver how about some facts on your post at 15.08 Brexit keeping us out of Europe. How has this happened. As far as I can see it is only Covid that has kept us out. Or will you do your usual of posting but not answer any question that is put to you to show the facts.
I stepped out of bed. (Puzzled face).

Cryptical //Sour grapes Hymie.//

No, I always promised I would post regularly how we (the UK population) suffer as a result of Brexit.
But it’s clear from this post that any loss to the UK will be seen as a gain by the Brexiteers (how perverse).
in a years time, one should examine whether Brexit has stood the test, and that 17 and a 1/2 million voters were right, or not. Its still early days and undoubtedly there will some who lose out, but there will be gains too.
Well so far Zac you've made no contribution to this post what so ever you've just stepped in with silly remarks aimed at me so may be the mods can get busy on your posts, other than that you may as well go back to bed.
Hymie //No, I always promised I would post regularly how we (the UK population) suffer as a result of Brexit.//

Why? Wouldn't it make more sense to give both sides and an accurate view?
pixie, because that isn't Hymies way.
