Boris has been warned, if he takes on Cummings, he will suffer a political version of mutually assured nuclear, destruction.
Oh Dear.
Gulliver,Boris is trying to shoot the messenger and make himself out as the victim in order to deflect attention from the content of the text messages.

Since it was Boris who appointed Cummings in the first place, it serves them both right.
i get that YMB, but as far as i can see, the change for tax was never enacted was it? did dyson actually make any ventilators? Saying he can sort the tax situation is not the same as doing it (where you would have expected transparency)
Or am i completely misreading it?

A lot of Mps have not got Boris's phone number ,but a few Billionaires have.
again, i still cant see the problem - were tax changes ACTUALLY made?
The rodent if he has done this but then are we surprised - he can't see things properly after all.
Who says Dom is the chief suspect ? The victim. Oh that must be right then. Ho ho ho ho ho ho.
Payback for making him stand in the back garden of No10 and do that 'I was breaking travel restrictions' speech?

Boris's Govt sleaze record to date.
Hancock and his neigbour/pub landlord. ( PPE supplies ).
Hancock being given shares in a company involvolved with his sister, which won an NHS contract.
Robert Jenrick , awarding planning permission to a billionaire family friend. who was also a Con party donor/
David Cameron and the Greensill affair.
David Cameron Consulting the BOE on behalf of Greensill.
Boris giving away thousand of £s in tax payers money To Jennifer Arcuri , what for is anyone guess.
Boris and the Dyson Texts.
And thats all we Know about.
i'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why the "dyson affair" is considered sleaze?
It's clear Mr Cummings does not enjoy a high level of esteem in the eyes of the electorate, which is hardly surprising since he flouted Covid rules and the insulted the nation with his stupid lying excuses - plus, for some reason, even though he is was an extremely high-level government advisor, he still persisted in presenting the professional image of a nine-year-old skate boarder.

That makes it easy for the 'source' to be believed, but as is clear by the careful legal language being used in the reports, no-one is accusing him directly, so he remains innocent until proven guilty.

It may be true, but it may not, so we can;t really condemn the man for leaking information.

Looking like a child in adult clothes and treating the entire country as though they are completely stupid, yes, but leaking? Not yet.
-- answer removed --
no indeed not yet. hung out to dry without him making any comeback.
bednobs, the sleaze is if you can privately email the prime minister to ask for help with tax. It's not transparent, and it leaves you wondering whether non-Tory party donors and non-Old Etonians can expect the same privilege. It's not a level playing field for business.
then it's sleaze on behalf of dyson, NOT the government (unless they DID actually make secret tax changes?)
Boris replied "I'll fix it tomow".
@12:25 that's not even the half of it
Boris was negotiating tax breaks for Dyson for ventilators, but that would have been fine. Fact is that Dyson didn't supply any ventilators in the end. Meanwhile, while Boris was negotiating with Dyson, UK tax paying companies that actually could supply ventilators were getting nowhere via official channels, and ended up selling ventilators elsewhere in the world.
perhaps they could stage their catfight in their fancy new press room? We paid for it, we should get some entertainment out of it.
