If they felt that strongly that they had been abused, harassed or generally received inappropriate treatment why not say something at the time.
Separately I could probably think of 30 odd men who have done something to me in the past that today would be considered abuse or harrassment. I never would have hit them nor would I make such a fuss that it would ruin their lives.
I probably feel more sad about this story because I loved this actor in Bulletproof (the only thing I knew him from). Even if he is guilty this has not been handled in a fair way IMO.

// I agree with TTT, I don't like these names publicised without any charges.//
well we cant do it when he IS charged Pixo
Interesting contib by NJ - as a grad with an ology, you can say that he has put the guilt finding point back to the complainant - -
complainants go along with things and then complain ( an no I am not thinking of the police here) and it is a fact of life.
" then why did you do it, you stupid gairl?" applies to alodda things including getting pregnant.
as complaints supremo I had - I dont want to complain I want it to stop.
then you have to complain
I dont want to complain I want it to stop.....then you have to....
as for twenty complaints post - they didnt know he was gonna get it did they?

Yes I find it unpleasant. But I also find it mysterious. Unless they all got together over a bottle of Chardonnay, how do they all know of each other's travails?
//But NJ do you think that it only happened late on in their relationship?//
I don't really know the details, lankeela. It just strikes me in matters like this the real allegation is unpleasant behaviour. If a woman is involved with a man who is behaving unpleasantly towards her she has options that do not involve waiting 20 years until he has received a BAFTA award. I'm not blaming the victim for being on the wrong end of that behaviour. I'm blaming them for waiting 20 years to do something about it.

Some women are able and confident enough to stick up for themselves, others aren't. Don't blame the latter group for falling victim to predators ... blame the predators themselves!

Replace "a bottle of Chardonnay" with "the internet" and you have your answer.

Imagine being confronted by somebody who is obviously stronger than you, and certainly more influential, being your employer/superior, and being told that the answer to any potential harassment is to beat him in a fight.
This isn't even a men vs. women thing, either. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has been in a position where they are feeling threatened, but obviously turning to violence is likely to make the threat even worse. I'm not saying that the people who kick their way out of the situation are automatically wrong to do so, sometimes that works, but people can surely be excused for choosing not to do something that (a) may not work, and (b) might make things worse if/when it fails.

Cuz on left preferred this lifestyle, prossing herself with famous 'clients' that left 4 illigit kids; all druggies like mom. Ofcourse my career lifestyle was too boring for her & she was chased for her beauty. Naively she only wanted a rich husband.

And here we go again, guilty by media & twitter. It's lynch mob mentality, no doubt 100 years ago most of you would have had him dangling from a scaffold.
I am getting really fed up with this. How can the man get a fair trial (if he comes to it) with all this?
Something needs to be done to reinforce innocent until proven guilty.

"A statement given by Met Police said: “On Wednesday, 21 April, police received a third party report relating to allegations of sexual offences allegedly committed by a male over a period of time.” At this time it is unclear who made the initial report to police and they have not confirmed the identity of the man against whom the report was made."
So, a report made by somebody unknown about a person unknown. On the basis of this and the unsubstantiated allegations by a group of women about event s that may or may not have taken place some years ago, Mr Clarke has been suspended by BAFTA; ITV have made the decision to pull the finale of their five-part drama Viewpoint; Sky has dropped Clarke, and has suspended production on the new season of his show Bulletproof until further notice.

Yes we do because at present the lunatics are most certainly being allowed or even encouraged to run the asylum.
