Feel good
no why would they. It's not in their interest to do so at this time.
Labour won't win not now at any rate. Next election is 2024.
you been on the funny fags sunk? Boris can kick the sheet out of Labour any time why would he bother now? Apart from anything else he'd need Labour's support to do it anyway and turkeys don't generally vote for xmas.
this country has got more things to worry about than holding another election, beating covid which is on track but still lots haven't had their first vaccination yet. And see where we are with local elections, i suspect that Sadiq Khan will take the Mayoralty, though Shaun Bailey should do well as second place. I would be delighted if he took it but i can't see that happening.
We have to get people back to work, to support the little people around them, the cafe's and bars once they are allowed to open fully.
Why would Boris want a summer election three years before it's due and with an eighty seat majority?
In order to dissolve Parliament the consent of 434 MPs is necessary. Assuming all the Tory MPs agree that would still leave them needing the support of around 70 opposition MPs. Can you see that happening at present?
The cynicism of such an election might even count against the Tories a little. They're in too strong a position to want to waste it.
No i can't see that happening NJ.
Elections are very expensive. Why spend the money when you have got enough else to spend it on and its not needed?
that's what i think - they are expensive to organise and most definitely not needed at this time.
Why? There's no reason to hold a General Election.

Couldn't even see Labour wanting one yet. There is a lot of dead wood in that party to get rid of and they need to know what direction they want to move in as they have no idea at the present time. Where is Gulliver when you need him to tell you what needs to be done lol.
When is the GE actually due?
No way. Why would Boris / the party call a GE? It would be like Lewis Hamilton going into the pits when he had a 20 second lead. Pointless.
May 2024
Tigger// When is the GE actually due?//
2024
theshedman, no idea where he is, but his quite interesting post got pulled the other day.
so perhaps he is sulking. especially as it was to do with the Tories taking Hartlepool.
@11.41. I though he always was.
