Spain are allowing Brits into Spain. I can see trouble ahead for Spain.

No you spend 1 or 2 weeks in hotels, pubs, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions spreading it with other people, including the locals, from all across the country. But that's OK...
Emmie get real we have vaccinated more people in this country for a start, more than any other country, plus on a plane you are sitting very close together, and a lot of those passengers will be stopping in different hotels, with people from different parts of the world, so when those same passengers come to fly home, back to the UK, there is every chance they will infect the other passengers who may have not been infected while away. When the planes start flying so will covid,
14.27 Your flogging a dead horse, and you know it regarding going abroad.
we will see won't we TC, those who need to quarantine when they get home. and those who won't have to according to the current rules of coming back from Portugal.
Some people will make all the excuses under the sun, to try and find a way to excuse them from doing what they really know is right, or just to get their way. :0)
No she isn't, i totally agree with Prudie. Have you ever been to butlins, its full of children who by and large don't have the vaccine, and they are the little super spreaders that some fear. For my sins i have been to Butlins, only once and that was enough, thousands mixing and mingling, kids and adults alike,
I'll go to Blackpool willingly, I love Blackpool ! Had my best fish and chips ever there ...
so you don't think your jaunts have brought you into contact with people who may not have had their vaccinations?
Emmie there is no quarantine, no quarantine that's working anyhow, we have not had a track and trace that's ever worked either.
So if we have vaccinated so many more people (which we have) why does Germany think we are such a threat? Do you realise that the EU countries are all moving across each others' borders all the time at the moment?
emmie 14.36 Well the schools have been packed for weeks now, no big peoblem.
14.39 Easy, vaccinated or not you can still carry the virus, but being vaccinated you may not become ill yourself, so Germany are looking at the UK having the India strain.
Well, let's have a think

Spain's 7 day new infection rate is 47.1 per 100,000 people. The UK's is 23.3.

Spain has administered 24m shots of the vaccine (44 shots per 100 people) with 16.8% of the population having received both shots. The UK had administered 59.2m shots (88 shots per 100 people) with 32.5% of the population having received both shots.

So who should be keeping who away from whom?

//I'm surprised the high horse riders aren't also slamming those wanting to go to Blackpool, Bognor or any other staycation destination.//

Or Bolton, even (385 cases per 100,000 people in the last 7 days). So where would you rather travel to, Bolton or Benidorm?

The country was told that vaccination would be its route to normality. I've been double jabbed. That gives me 90% protection from something I was unlikely to contract anyway. That's good enough for me and I shall be returning to normality just as soon as I am allowed to. Restrictions were placed on the population to counter some clearly identifiable threats (excess deaths and the NHS being overwhelmed). Both those threats are now no longer evident. Those who wish to behave as if those restrictions are still in place can do so. There's nothing stopping them. Everybody else can get on with their lives.
yes they can NJ> -
So who should be keeping away from who, I suppose the countries who at the moment believe they haven't yet got the India strain, it seems Germany believe we are a risk, unless there's another political reason? Can't see any reason I would holiday in Bolton, plus I believe they are working overtime now to get more vaccinated.
