Gemany have banned Brits from entering their Country. because of the fear of Indian Covid
Spain are allowing Brits into Spain. I can see trouble ahead for Spain.
Why can't the Brits just go to Blackpool.

sadly yes, it was a total nightmare. It wasn't sunny, the food wasn't all that good, and the only saving grace was coming home.
Shame, emmie.

The Canaries have some very nice spots but like all holiday destinations, there are good parts, not-so-good parts and bloody awful parts. Even within a single town there are some parts I'd visit and some I'd giver a wide berth. I've not been to Tenerife, but have visited Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria and always had a good time. You just need to know where to go.
I hated Tenerife as well, too rowdy and got peed off with the Time Share touts, we stay in Costa Teguise in Lanzarote, had a bus ride out to PDC and didn’t like it there, CT is nicely laid back with no rowdy pubs
we were new to the Canaries, and went for some sun obviously, to see a new place, all we managed to see were more high rise blocks than you can throw a stick at. Not my idea of a good holiday. I wouldn't go to the Canaries again, then again its unlikely i will go abroad any time soon.
Lanzarote is held to no more that a certain height, the only very tall building on the whole of the island is called the Gran Hotel, all houses are restricted to being painted white with either blue ( sea ) or green ( land) windows and doors
which is what i adored about Santorini, and many of the Greek Islands,
no high rise buildings, or none that i saw, i expect that its changed now, but then they were all painted white with blue domed roofs.

There is only one high rise building in Lanzarote. That's the "Gran Hotel" in Arrecife.

Local artist César Manrique had a major influence on the tourist development programme of the island and there are no other buildings more than 3 stories high, buildings must be white, or beige and the doors and windows must be green, blue or black.
And it’s kept it’s charm through that I think NJ
I've been going to the same place in Tenerife for the last 26 years, we go to a place called Puerto de Santiago, it has gotten slightly busier over the years but there are no time share touts or gangs of yobs, its a very family friendly part of the island, i did go to Las Americas when I was 17(a longgg) time a go and had a good time but wouldn't go there now.
Many of these islands are famous for their ultra tat brits abroad horrors but only in specific towns, las Americas in Tenerife, des Ingles in Gran Canaria, Magaluf in Majorca and San Antonio in Ibiza but the rest of the islands can be very beautiful and peaceful.
Did all those Prudie when I was about 17, great times, wouldn't go there now.
Yes that's the sort of age you have to be to really enjoy them but then you slept all day and partied all night so didn't care what it was like :-)
That pretty much sums it up, sounds like the tag line from The lost boys. :-)
Oh, I like garlic. ;-)
I don’t understand why some on this site get pathetically prissy and pious over people wanting to go abroad on holiday - it speaks volumes about their character.
I love going abroad, experiencing different cultures, people and food, I have a few Spanish nurses in my hospital and their english is perfect but I always say good morning in Spanish.
Just checked, and nope, had no plans to visit Germany in the near future. My parent's generation did that despite being told by the teutonic people that it was not possible. Meanwhile millions of "visitors" with no health records, job skills that are a ready fit for the economy, criminal record checks, age scrutiny, border checks or passport requirements are apparently willkommen no kvestions asked.

Ohh and accommodation plus "benefits" from day 1.
Germany is a lovely country - I’ve been there a lot over the years and will definitely be going back, when I’m allowed, and they’re wonderful people, and contrary to the perception, they have a great sense of humour.

I had a German girlfriend in the 90s for a few years, and she showed me some lovely places off the beaten track.
15:36 that’s so insulting. Have you first hand evidence ?
Sorry meant 14:36. Still stand my response. Every one to his own
The vaccines here in the UK are effective against the Indian variant, so those Brits you have had both jabs should be able to go anywhere.
