Who Is That Asian Doctor Being Interview On The Bbc News This Lunchtime About Covid Infections?
Talk about pessimism and doom and gloom. She didn't seem to accept that the vaccine is keeping infections and deaths low. She was giving the impression that we should stay in lock down for the foreseeable. If I didn't know any better I would suspect she is wanting to protect those in the asian community who are refusing the vaccine.

HOWEVER :
In my opinion the Indian variant is widespread throughout the UK.
I do not believe that the present vaccines are as effective as against the original virus.
I think that ,with the information so far, 5he lifting of restricted should be postponed.
The next two weeks are critical in evaluating the effect of the Indian variant and it's mates.
Sorry dave..-;).

I am fairly level headed and not particularly violent but I am beginning to seethe at the ethnic groups refusing to have the vaccine -even if that's not actually true or fair - and am sure others might want to thump a few of them. We have had enough of this and extending the carrot because of the inaction of others makes my blood boil.
[email protected] too.
//Am wondering why you mention her race//
Presumably because of this:
//If I didn't know any better I would suspect she is wanting to protect those in the asian community who are refusing the vaccine.//
The debate about which should not be stifled. If, in fact it was the other way round and white British people were declining to have the vaccine in their droves, thus putting the wellbeing and the potential relaxation of restrictions in jeopardy for everybody (including our Asian friends) there would certainly be a debate.

It is not fair to blame just Asian people.
The most up to date figures from the Office of National Statistics state that the greatest vaccine hesitancy is among Black or Black British (about 30%). This does not include Asians who are listed separately.
Also, people who don’t speak English have the lowest vaccine rates in the over 50’s.
Adults living in the most deprived areas have higher rates of vaccine hesitancy.
Hindus and Sikhs have almost the same vaccine levels as Christians but Muslims are lower.
So there are a lot of factors at work here and just blaming ‘Asians’ is obviously not acceptable.
