...and before you on about it, AB may technically be social media but it's a mere sliver of what goes on on twitgramtubeface etc.

//In an Ofsted survey, girls explained that if they blocked boys on social media "they just create multiple accounts to harass you".// I'm obviously missing something here. If I went somewhere where I was being continually bullied or harassed I simply wouldn't go there. The answer to this problem is in the girls' hands. Simply avoid using Twitter or...

This is nothing to do with social media. This is a lack of education of young boys.
Not sure what you mean.
Why are people not abandoning it in protest?
Or why are people using it full stop?
This story is shocking but social media extends a long way beyond that.
It’s here to stay but the problem is how to keep it as safe as possible.
Social Media doesn't have to be a cesspit. I haven't had one single request for 'nudes' on any platform.

ich: "Not sure what you mean.
Why are people not abandoning it in protest?
Or why are people using it full stop?" - both of those, I cannot see any benefit and I can see lots of downside. Can someone explain to me the "benefit" of having your entire life visible day to day by everyone on the planet and then why you'd add to that info? I just cannot grasp that.

ZM: "Social Media doesn't have to be a cesspit. I haven't had one single request for 'nudes' on any platform." - don't be shy now, come on you know you want to......
You're entire life is not visible on social media, only the bit's you want to put on there.

I find out all sorts of useful info about local events etc.

I'm not about to abandon anything and i don't believe there will be any such action, especially by the Under 20s.
(sorry 2 superfluous apostrophes there!)
Soma Sara's brief video on your link has it, this has to start very young in educating our children in where boundaries lie.

Then it must be reinforced through life as they grow, including schools and other places where young people gather.
if they dont like social media
why do they keep doing it?
o god dont ask me ....
// (sorry 2 superfluous apostrophes there!)//

i not capitalised - U in Under probably capitals not needed.
Oh lardy dah - concentrating on accuracy and truth on AB
now there's thing
I'm not sure pre-pubescent / pubescent boys are too bothered with boundaries.
Indeed, PP. Indeed.
Keeping in touch with friends and family who live far away, finding out about local events and groups, local buying and selling. I am on several discussion groups on Facebook, all private not public.
Social media helped keep me sane when we were locked down!
I love social media. People of all ages need to be taught how to protect themselves online. Strangers can't send me private messages on any platform and anyone can opt to do the same.

Youngsters need educating about this aspect of modern life.
Yet again the answer given is "Why do these girls go on social media?" , rather than "What can be done to stop men from doing this?" It's just the same as non-white people getting racial abuse online.

It's not up to the victims to leave social media, it's up to the social media platforms and relative law enforcement to find and punish those who act this way.
They won't be if they've never been taught where they lie .
I'm not sure any amount of teaching / education would override the animalistic hormonal urges of young men.
No self control then?

Oh dear.
No Zacs, but going on the sex offenders register might do.
Is that a potential result of asking someone for 'nudes'?
