Covid Nurses.

How is the NHS managing during the covid pandemic with the shortage of nurses. Most had to return to their own countries because of Brexit . It is said they are 36,000 Nurse short.

A year ago (i.e. four years after the referendum) it was estimated that 10,000 NHS staff from the EU had returned home. This still left 68,000.

So nowhere near "most" and none that left had to leave.

There are about 300,000 nurses in the NHS which is probably about 10% short of the present requirement. The NHS pays extortionate fees* for agency nurses to fill the gaps. The sooner they recruit, train, employ AND RETAIN more "in-house" and reduce the dependency on agencies the better.

*£6 billion a year / fees over £100 per hour !!! need to be signed off by a senior manager.
