Surely they'd do better spending a fortnight in Portugal (71 cases per million) or Cyprus (63) than here (107). In fact they'd be far better off to get away if they lived in Bradford (more than three times the England average) or even the St Ives area in Cornwall. That area has seen a severe spike in Covid cases following the totally unnecessary "G7" jamboree. This is hardly surprising since around 11,000 people gathered there or thereabouts for this ridiculous nonsense. Of course government ministers and officials from abroad are exempt from quarantine rules. Which just shows what a farce they are.
//Isnt it mainly because they dont want us//
No it isn’t. The foreign Office advises against all but essential travel to Amber and Red countries (apart from a few Greek and Spanish islands). That automatically voids almost all travel insurance policies meaning effectively you cannot travel. Whether they want us or not is immaterial.
//Anyway we dont want people from high risk areas congregating and queeuing for hours in our airports risking spreading it to others//
Who are “we” in this instance because it doesn’t include me.
//The rise in covid cases was really expected after Boris allowed 20,000 people to slip into Uk from India while he dilly dallied.//
It is interesting to note that the “Indian” variant has found its way into both Australia and New Zealand. Both these countries have probably the strictest border controls and quarantine regime of anywhere.
//Has anyone admitted they are going for zero Covid?//
I have been looking in a little detail at the figures used on Monday to continue restrictions. It is very interesting to see what we were not told rather than what we were. I am more and more convinced that Zero Covid is clearly the plan and the lunatics really have taken over running the asylum.

Now is this really like for like when it comes to the method of counting and timing?
As to Cornwall, I quote from Monday.
More than 100 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Cornwall in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
As world leaders and journalists departed the county on the final day of G7, June 13, Cornwall reported a spike in Covid-19 cases for a fourth day running.
Since Thursday, June 9, Cornwall has been reporting dozens of new cases each day - with 60 on June 9, 82 on June 10, 69 on Saturday, and another 106, yesterday.
In the last seven days, this puts the total at 373 cases - a 832 per cent increase on the previous seven day period.
After months of no Covid clusters, Cornwall now has ten areas reporting more than two cases in the same seven-day-period.
However, the cluster data is five days behind the data used for the daily cases, so will not reflect the latest figures.
The current clusters are as follows:
Towednack, Lelant and Carbis Bay: 4
St Ives and Halsetown: 6
Ponsanooth, Mabe Burnthouse and Constantine: 16
Newquay 13
Illogan and Portreath: 3
Grampound Road, St Newlyn East and Cubert: 3
Falmouth: 10
Bodmin: 3
However, despite the incredible increase in cases - there have been no deaths in the past seven days with coronavirus.
There have also been two, yes TWO, patients with Covid-19 hospitalised at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
