That checker is not a great deal of use. Tried it for my bike 2001 Model and it simply says refer to the manufacture.

I'll probably just use the 'super' which is staying at E5 for the bike but use the E10 (cheaper) for the BMW and Jag as they are new vehicles and shouldn't have a problem.

Its worth noting if you have a vehicle that is laid up the ethanol will evaporate out so best to leave some E5 in which has half the ethanol.

You forgot the principle loss: more land used to produce the ethanol additive. Add this to the land taken up to grow more plants because we are to be told to eat less meat and dairy, more used to house solar farms and more used to house wind farms and there's a huge loss. Mind you they could always try converting the land that is cleared for other "green" purposes to grow the plants to make into fuel. There is plenty on the other side of the Atlantic as the equivalent of some 14m tons of green wood are felled each year to provide Drax power station with its "carbon neutral" fuel of compressed wood. The emissions from burning this (which are greater than burning the equivalent amount of coal) do not count against the UK's emissions and the UK taxpayer and energy bill payers subsidise the plant to an enormous degree to support this deceit.
