Pregnant pause must make walking difficult
Also - why are people up in arms about an emoji?

I highly doubt that most people on AB would even use an emoji - so why the stress?

All an emoji is, is a visual representation of a word, phrase or emotion - what's wrong with having one that represents a man giving birth?

It could be used in the context of:

Steve: How are you feeling this morning after last night's curry?

David: Literally, like this

This is one emoji out of 3304.

It represents 0.03% of all emojis so I have to ask again - why are people up in arms?
It was most likely sweet corn, to us.
The use of the phrase 'freak of nature' is a pejorative.

But going back to my other point - why are people so worked up?

To paraphrase Tora

// just the start me old china.//

Today it's emojis, next year it could be compulsory for all men??
Mamyalynne

I see your point.

Two years ago, they introduced emojis of wine glasses - and now I have to drink wine every night.

...apparently.

;-)
Exactly, simples really.
They can be educational as well - once I saw a penis actually was purple & green, I stopped worrying :-)
Lie-in King.

I had to have my 21 year old nephew explain that one to me.

It was the first time I ever sighed and muttered "flipping millennials".

Anyway - everyone enjoy the rest of this thread - we've got another four hours of sunshine in London, there's a jug of Pimms somewhere in our garden and I aim to find it!
Enjoy Sp x
Ooh, I haven't had Pimms for ages - enjoy, sp :-)
SP, //The use of the phrase 'freak of nature' is a pejorative.//

No it isn’t. In the case I referred to it’s a fact.

From your link: // it’s possible for men to become pregnant and give birth to children of their own. In fact, it’s probably a lot more common than you might think. In order to explain, we’ll need to break down some common misconceptions about how we understand the term “man.” Not all people who were assigned male at birth (AMAB) identify as men. //

Your author is correct - but your argument is false. There are misconceptions (although not as common as he/she may wish) about the way in which the term ‘man’ or ‘woman’ is understood but he/she - and you - need to understand that, like religion, wanting it to be so doesn’t make it so. People can - and do - deceive themselves but the simple fact is men aren’t women, women aren’t men - and men do not give birth.
Cheers Mamyalynne…I mean that literally.

Just found the Pimms.

Hoorah!!!

Have a nice weekend!!!
Have a nice weekend yourself Lie-in King.

Also - Huge compliments on you member name. It’s probably the best here!
Our sick society is a reflection of the moral absolutes so eagerly abandoned in the name of freedom and enlightenment.
The resulting sewer is not surprising.

Well, I look forward to the latest, inevitable plague of beasties your loving God will send. He's done frogs, locusts and storms of hail fire, I wonder what's next? Water buffalo? Ladybirds? Blobfish? I hope it's blobfish.

However, the emoji is another example of NewThink.
Vegans had pepperoni removed from the pizza emoji. Was is it "offensive"?

Orwell's 1984 became public domain 2021-01-01.
Everyone should read that. Most of it is already history.
Wonder why it is not in schools.

Well, the pizza slice in my emoji library has pepperoni and olives on it, so I don't know where you got that idea from.
