Toomy Whatsisname...
Sorry I haven't got a link. I heard on the radio and BBC telly that TR has been judged on the wrong side in a court case against him for falsely accusing a teenager (who was filmed being beaten by school 'chums') of attacking young women, and that he has to pay £100,000 penalty, plus legal costs. I'm surprised that TUS haven't been on here defending him. He seems to be pleading bankruptcy and saying that he's had a bad year. Are there many here who feel sorry for him?

Few dare raise the subject for fear of being deemed racist and castigated. What a disingenuous roundabout this world is on.
I don’t care if people are black, white, green, or purple with yellow spots, but I do have issues with the foibles of culture - as, I believe, does Tommy Robinson.

I'm glad to hear that Naomi, and I expect nothing less from you. Unfortunately Mr Robinson's actions have long been that of an individual far less colour blind than you. As I said previously, this particular case is nasty in the extreme, with Robinson trying to protect schoolyard bullies because their victim was a Muslim. It was disgusting behaviour, and definitely one based on his prejudiced view point.
David - Mr Atkinson is obviously correct, criticising someone for their ethnicity is unacceptable, since it is not a matter of choice, criticising their religion is acceptable, because it is a matter of choice.
However, linking a perverted few to an entire denomination because said few nominally belong to that denomination, and then linking the entire denomination to the behaviour of the few - that is manifestly unacceptable.
And 'Tommy Robinson' has made a lucrative career out of doing exactly that.

Mozz, //Mr Robinson's actions have long been that of an individual far less colour blind than you.//
If Tommy Robinson had a problem with colour he would attack people of cultures other than Islam. ‘Islam’ is not a race but the Islamic culture is what I believe Tommy Robinson abhors - and people from that culture come from all corners of the globe and in all colours. I’m pretty sure he would regard a white Muslim in exactly the same way as he regards a black Muslim. In my opinion it isn’t about colour, but culture.

"To criticize a person for their race is manifestly irrational and ridiculous, but to criticize their religion, that is a right, that is a freedom"
You intentionally or otherwise left out "a person for" between "criticize and their" above. Re-instate that and there is no difference.
Robinson plainly is driven by racism not a sense of morals, as anyone who say his (deleted) abusive tweets will know only too well.
Man of violence, designer thug, whatever.

I end to agree with you but it still leaves Tommy Robinson guilty of hate crimes.
//Something is a racist or religious hate incident if the victim or anyone else thinks it was carried out because of hostility or prejudice based on race or religion.//

naomi - // However, I do agree that Tommy Robinson has wrongly targeted some people. As I said before, the man is a hot head and a fool to himself. //
Another spectacularly bland assessment of 'Robinson' - but it does tie in with your baffling determination to defend him, even allowing for the horrible things he has done, and the seriously horrible person he is.
