Drug-related deaths in England and Wales have reached their highest levels since records began as they rose for the eighth year in a row, figures show.
There were 4,561 deaths related to drug poisoning in England and Wales in 2020, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
It was the highest number since records began in 1993 and up 3.8% from the previous year.

Imagine a world without recreational drugs. Imagine a world where years ago drug makers and dealers were re-educated by death. What a difference to today’s mess.
A missed opportunity. Severity from the onset years ago would have seen a different world, a better people. I know that there has always been drug abuse. But not on this all encompassing scale. Though the evil is allowed to proliferate.
