Tomus, Danny is correct. It’s not the local bobby, it’s a firearms officer. He comes to have a chat and to check that the guns are being safely stored - in our case in a metal purpose built gun cabinet that is screwed to the wall and floor and requires two different keys to unlock - which we keep in the safe. If I wanted to shoot a burglar he’d have ransacked the house before I’d got a gun and loaded it!

It's a local Bobby with the title 'firearms officer', but whoever it was that decided this person was fit to own a gun, then was unfit, and then was fit again a short time later has got a few questions to answer.
