//Please do not pretend you are deeply concerned about Afghanistan... it is obvious you just don't want them here.// There is no pretence. I am not in the least concerned about Afghanistan other than the effect the events there will have on the UK. The country is ungovernable by (what we consider to be) conventional means. The problem the West has with it is...
what should one expect from Pakistan, as you say they have harboured the Taliban for years. Now it's time to shut the doors so to speak, despicable government.
so much for the Afghan forces as well, they seemed to have melted away in the midday sun. Heaven help this country now, its a mess and won't be solved by us any longer.
Priti Patel should be saying to Pakistan “ you're closing your borders then so are we and all aid from the UK government to you is being stopped from immediate effect”
We have to remember even the "victims" of the Taliban choose to follow the Religion of Peace. Maybe a different form, but still fundamentally the Religion of Peace.
It is such a kind, loving religion, Allah will save them.
Ich, watch this space I’d say, we will be swamped with people ‘trying to get in ‘ now, it was bad enough before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban , for every one dinghy crossing the channel now, there’ll be four or five
You aren’t seriously telling me that a thousand six hundred mile long land border or whatever it is is comparable to a sea crossing thousands of miles away?
And anyway, what are we going to do when it comes to the envisaged armada of dinghies?
Put a big fence across the channel?
Like I say, there’s no comparison with the two situations. The vast majority of refugees from war zones spill over into the nearest territory they can find. That’s how it always works.
Soon there will most likely be another civil war in the country when the northern alliance regroups to counter the probable ethnic cleansing by the Taleban.
And then it will be a thousand times worse
