So sir nick Carter and boris Johnson say There’s a “great sense of regret” for the 1000 (prob more in reality) Afghans who had helped our troops that will be left behind (to face certain torture and death).
“Great regret”!!!! Cmon man! These are lives, people! YOU’VE (nick Carter , boris) have failed to protect. I find that despicable
The Afghans who worked for these countries and were ensured a ‘ save journey’ for them and their families, may never trust them again. Who could blame them ?
i didn't say that The Taliban had set the suicide bomber. Its been reported that the planner of that has been killed by drone attack, though who knows.
Had the British had more warning of Biden’s decision, plans could have been put in place to get those people out before the Taliban entered Kabul, but it all happened so quickly and the Taliban have wasted no time in setting up road checks and doing house to house searches. I think it’s a hopeless case.
Anneasquith, don’t forget that when the US decided to withdraw the world (apart from me it seems) expected the Afghan military to hold the fort. They didn’t. The Taliban took Kabul with no opposition whatsoever.
the Afghan army has completely lost the plot, done a runner, just disappeared, there was no opposition to the takeover by the Taliban, the trillion it cost training, arming them, and being there for twenty years has all been for nothing.
be honest Eve there is no easy answer to your post. If there were i am sure that the Americans and the British and all others would have done something about it by now.
Eve you should be directing your venom at Biden, he decided to suddenly withdraw without warning, the UK cannot hold back the tide of the taliban on its own, we have no choice but to follow the Americans and leave. Get your facts straight.
