Boris plans to sack Raab at the end of the week.
His popularity amongst Tory MPs has plummeted over his tardy show during the present Afghanistan crisis.
Liz Truss is lined up to replace him. The only fly in the ointment might be she is too popular. Her approval ratings are far far higher than Boris’ own, and he might be reluctant to promote his eventual successor.
Am not keen on Truss at all. Williamson seems out of he's depth. Raab was good covering for Boris 12 _18 months ago and seemed a possible calm leader but he went quiet 12 months and clearly was not anymore in favour and he as bungled things now glad his going.
I am willing to have a bet with you that Liz Truss will never lead the Tory party.
That table is interesting perhaps as far as it goes but largely meaningless
I can’t think why she’s so popular: isn’t she the trade deals person? If so her record is spectacularly … unspectacular.
Not hard to shine tho in that company.
Raab was never fit for his office, tho that also applies to several of the others including his boss
Parties don't WIN elections, they LOSE elections. If the Tories put together a cabinet which people have no faith in they will shift their vote, not necessarily to Labour. It might not result with a different party in power but it can destroy a majority.
Lol Danny yes very amusing :-)
The sad truth is most of the UK’s great new trade deals are rehashes of existing ones. The brave new Brexit world of a free-trading UK bestriding the world looks a distant dream.
Anyone putting any money on a US trade deal just now?
Admittedly none of this is probably the fault of Ms Truss: but she talks the stuff of trade fantasy I’m afraid
Any PM with half a brain would not have had Raab, or Williamson ,in his cabinet from the start , but then again Excuses have to be made for, Johnson &Co.
