I suggest a parade with floats and flags, marching bands and possibly a royal guest to bring about a state of national euphoria (nothing to do with Europe, Tora). We can trick ourselves into believing that this is the best we can possibly hope for and be content. The day will finish with tea parties and bonfires and we'll be damned glad to have been allowed to...

well if you wait a GE will come along and you can do it then (if others agree with you)
how is this news BTW?
:-)

I can hear the steam building in anti-British obsessed quarters.
And your replacement would be...?

Bednobs it's not news!! Just fancy putting it here darling.
We'll have to start with a few clandestine meetings, in pubs and clubs, and suchlike places. Then, there will have to be some sort of agreement reached. The agreement will then have to be discussed and argued over. Some individuals will fall out with other individuals, but, at the end, one or two leaders will emerge. These one or two leaders will form their own splinter groups, which will then alienate the rest of the population. All such groups will then be declared illegal by someone, and that will be that.
The inability to agree on anything much suggests no change for the foreseeable.

I'm not busy but I think I'd need a few more details to check my diary to make sure a coup doesn't clash before committing to join in...

Why would there be a coup? The British are essentially a C/conservative nation. Take out Blair (who most on the left revile) and a Labour government hasn't been elected since Wilson in the 1970s and before that Attlee in the 1940s.
I can get some Toyota Land Cruisers if you will supply the machine guns & rocket launchers!
And whether we like it or not there's no opposition that's more popular (less unpopular) than this tory goverment in England. .and are Mps were voted for by.... us
Anyway, some of us are already okay in the coo department.
Didn't know you were a pigeon fancier Douglas.
that's why we have general elections and the Tories win most of the time. Whatever you think of the government, they are the choice of the people, end of.
That would be a Doo mozz .
only three Labour leaders have won a General election in 120 years we are primarily a Tory country. What is the problem Sharon, what don't you like?
//…well if you wait a GE will come along and you can do it then (if others agree with you)//

A GE is not a “coup”. It is simply an opportunity to replace one bunch of shysters, crooks, liars and charlatans with another (the choice usually made on the basis of the option the voter detests the least).

Personally I have nobody to vote for. All I want my government to do is three simple things: (1) to stop illegal entry to this country by thousands of people who have no right to be here; (2) to withdraw entirely from the Brexit agreement that was made with the EU and (3) to acknowledge that (what they call) “Climate Change” is here to stay, it cannot be prevented and to take sensible measures to accommodate it rather than ridiculous measures trying to counter it. Not too much to ask. It would be nice if they could also reorganise the NHS (or at least employ someone capable of doing so) so as it is fit for purpose instead of being a job creation scheme for overpaid executives which has to be “protected”. But you can’t have everything.

So bearing in mind no political party or candidates capable of forming a government are likely to pledge to undertake any of those tasks (not that I’d believe them if they said they would) I’m coming to the conclusion that my vote will have to be kept to myself.

A military coup would actually be a decent alternative. A handful of Generals, Air Marshals and Admirals could get themselves and their troops organised. Detachments spread across the country under a few Group Captains, Colonels and Captains. Then a couple of SAS patrols over the railings at No10 to dispossess the overweight police officers walking up and down eating Hobnobs, and they should be able to secure the building for the C-in-C quite quickly. Job done!

//The British are essentially a C/conservative nation.//

Indeed they are. Unfortunately this government has thrown C/conservatism out of a very high window.

Well I'm up for it.
So we will meet in the Queens Arm to discuss further.
First on the agenda, who's paying for the drinks.
What is the problem Sharon, what don't you like?
