Is it all still caused by volcanoes then ?

The view that the climate is changing (which I think most people at least accept) largely because of increased carbon emissions is something backed up by countless scientific studies. The idea that it isn’t seems largely based on bloody mindedness. As I’ve said before the idea it’s fixable or at least able to be regulated (which it wouldn’t be if it wasn’t due...

jno "But the answer is still China

That article starts "China emits more greenhouse gas than the entire developed world combined, a new report has claimed."

it is replete with 'data' from a New York advisory group/think tank( Rhodium Group) and a European think tank (Global Carbon Project 2020)
but the BBC article does mention:
"The Asian giant has the world's largest population, so its per person emissions are still far behind the US, but the research said those emissions have increased too, tripling over the course of two decades." ..... just to keep it all balanced, right ?

jno, understood;I have seen your views on this subject, I was giving a wider view on a BBC hit piece.
Sadly New Judge was half right ,"This is virtue signalling to a world that has no virtue of its own ".
The Public has no power in this matter, but the charade of the 26th Conference of the Parties warrants deep scrutiny.

Because something is perceived wisdom does not automatically mean that it must be the only correct view...
My contgention is that such a conclusion is not proveable, certainly not to the level where anyone is actually going to think about changing their lives to facilitate it. "
Does that same logic apply to the asymptomatic COVID-19 spreader, Andy ?

The BBC is now back to showing pictures of extreme weather around the world trying to scare people half to death over climate change. This is after 18 months of roaming hospital wards filming people dying of covid in hospital beds and lingering footage of nurses in tears. Don't they just love all this scare mongering so as to try to keep people in check and do what they're told.
The UK is one of the largest historical emitters on the planet. Some of the wealth generated by those emissions should be put back into fixing the problem.
The argument over whether the climate change is being caused by human emissions is utter nonsense. There is no question. The rate of change far exceeds anything in the past and it not consistent with any "natural cycle".
On average, volcanoes emit about one percent of the carbon emitted by human activities.
The notion that changing the way we generate energy would destroy our economy is ridiculous. It is changing and having a positive effect. The idea that enough energy could not be produced by renewables is completely false.
