Spending an extra £350m per week on the NHS would be a waste - probably go in inflated admin salaries.

Perpetrating and perpetuating the bus message as merely misunderstood.
Even the boggled-eyed Farage admitted to the dodginess of it all.
One can picture your eyes glazing over as you have to trot out the same garbage yet again, akin to the newsreader on a rolling news channel dishing out the same guff for the fifth time in an hour.

But he said 'electors believe a promise was made' and that 'politicians cannot hide behind the small print like some disreputable businesses do'. //

We send the EU £350m a week
Let’s fund the NHS instead
The important word was "instead":
https:/ /www.me rriam-w ebster. com/dic tionary /instea d
Definition of instead
1: as a substitute or equivalent
// was going to write but called instead
2: as an alternative to something expressed or implied
// longed instead for a quiet country life

Some of them probably do. Whether it was or not is immaterial. As I've said on here many times, any voters believing what politicians tell them need to have their bumps felt. Anybody casting their vote, whether in the referendum or in any sort of election, based on what politicians have told them or "promised" them, is a fool.
The only disappointment I have is that, although I didn't see it emblazoned on the side of a bus, I heard a number of minor "celebrities" telling anybody who would listen that they would leave the UK should we leave the EU. I haven't heard of any of them upping sticks yet but what they told me had a huge influence on the way I voted and I feel very let down.

Nowhere on that bus did it say what the funding should be. Anyone who wants to spend another 350million a week in the NHS should get there noggin felt.
And lets face it, there was plenty of controversy on this at the time. So anyone still thinking it was literal really has got a problem in the head.

Tora - //TBH though we are actually spending another £350 a week on the NHS anyway.//
£350 a week? That's not much ;-)
Ignoring the whole bus thing which seems to have taken over (again), and addressing the OP instead, who cares? Personally, I don't give a damn if a country I have no investment in leaves an organisation my country isn't a part of. It seems the only reason for this thread is a hearty dose of schadenfreude.

Ursula von der Leyen says this in response to the Polish people, who are quite attached to their Nationhood( ask the Nazis and the Marxists), reiterating their sovereignty.
"Our treaties are very clear. All rulings by the European Court Of Justice are binding on all member state's authorities including National Courts. EU law has primacy over national law, including constitutional provisions. This is what all member states have signed up to as members of the European Union. We will use all the powers that we have under the Treaties to ensure this."
Who knew? Were you told this at any stage? Why have they denied their intent until we decided to have no more part in the 4th Reich. Is that statement meant to bind all the members to it if they do not quickly challenge the mission creep?
P.S. Article 16 by Christmas to sort the N.I. farce out.

Back on topic. The 'bus lie' will no doubt run and run, except it won't.. no driver and no fuel. Hahaha! :O)
Khandro re Polish people.. 'with getting towards 1 million living in the UK who have been availing themselves of the NHS, education & housing they are on a pretty good deal.'
If they live in the UK, I would think it fair that the benefits we are all entitled to and take for granted should be theirs equally. I would think it unfair if they were 'on a pretty bad deal' wouldn't you?
Khandro '(and having entered WWII on there behalf, we don't IMO owe them too much) - Still, I must admit I like them.' Good to hear.. as naomi24 likes to ask.. do you know any Khandro?
My specialist (non-expert) interest (as an enthusiastic autodidact) is code breaking, one of my others is human psychology.. I study people. I deduce an excess of 'cultural inculcation' going on here..
(cultural inculcation - the process of fixing beliefs or ideas in someone's mind, especially by repeating them often).. often referred to as 'a broken record'. Thus, I shall not be spending too much time here, my skills and abilities I feel will be better spent elsewhere pursuing more rewarding activities that may at least give other people a feeling of being appreciated, however minuscule the amount that may be. I think a podcast, where I speak and others listen, hopefully intently. There are others who share my views and values I am certain of that fact!
For those interested to know the debt we owe to the Polish code breakers of WWII - specifically Enigma (notably mathematicians Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski and Jerzy Różycki) read this..

Dear Sir.. Tora Tora Tora 'it's quite amusing how the the remoaners are now so desperate that they now seek to redefine our very language.'
It would be appreciated if we could at the very least 'mind our spelling'.. too many incorrect usages of words, there and their the most frequently misused I have noticed posted on this thread. I don't actually mind, but it would be good if we could at least all learn something useful while here on AB. ;O)
