Deep corruption in high places is as old as society itself, it will never ever be over, merely diverted, swept under the carpet, and generally covered up.

It's that magic word 'evidence'.

Sufficient levels of evidence have to be gathered - if they can in fact be found - in order for a trial to be instigated, and proceed.

Savile - loads of evidence, but dead, so no trial.

Lord Brittan - no evidence, but dead, so no trial.

That's about it.

people in religious organisations do seem to get an easier ride. But as for the cops ... they're criticised for pursuing allegations against Brittan and for not pursuing allegations against Janner (both accused by Carl Beech, as I recall). They're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I am not blaming the police for a lack of prosecution against Janner. That decision was made much higher up than the Police.
I would not be surprised if Blair didn’t get the final word.

It is a disgrace that Janner didn’t face justice for his crimes.
The report seems to imply he was protected. Who by, and why, is your guess.
