Will There Ever Be A Political Party That Isn't In Thrall To The Eco Lunatics?
I have no-one to vote for at the moment as all three main parties have been taken in by greta and her ilk and are determined to career down a path of eco poverty and industrial destruction. I thought the Conservative party had more sense than to be taken in.

A bit of a When did you stop beating your wife question. Its invalid. We're not trashing the economy or greatly diminishing....
Yes we are only around 1%. But so's France, so's Germany, so's Australia, so's Canada, Italy, Spain,,, so on that basis noone should bother

A specious argument, nothing to do with a leading question & wife beating. Read the OP again it's about British political decision making.
Britain has & is, making laudable actions in reducing carbon emissions & will continue to do so, but it is this unnecessary weird timetable that is suicidal.

But your question at 14:07 certainly was an invalid question Khandro because you said
" is it worth trashing the economy & greatly diminishing the living standards of the country's population to reduce that"
when infact there is nothing in the plan that will trash the economy or greatly diminish living standards. Thats just your opinion and not evidence based or based on what ministers or econmists are saying

I don't really mind if people who don't believe in climate change aren't given a choice politically... most people don't have a lot of political choice and for right-wingers (because it's always them, funny that) to suddenly start moaning because on this one issue they for once aren't getting exactly what they want... well, I couldn't care less really!
//because it's always them, funny that//
It ain't that funny, Entitled.
What you think of as right-wing people are just smarter and can see all the unintended consequences that only occur to the inhabitants of La La Lefty Land when they come about.
As for this being the one thing right wing people aren't getting their own way in. Lol, where have you been for the last forty years. The cultural war is lost. You tell us what we're allowed to think never mind say.

> The UK is producing just 1% of the world's co2 emissions, is it worth trashing the economy
The UK is less than 1% of the world's population so we're still producing more than our fair share.
And the only reason we're not producing a lot more than 1% is that we've cut back a lot already.
Since the start of the industrial revolution, we've certainly benefited by producing disproportionately more of the outputs that are messing the world up now, and we should not continue to do that.
If we consider ourselves to be leaders, then we need to do exactly that ... lead.

I am rapidly reaching the stage when I will vote for anyone who is 'anti' green! Enough it enough. Climate change has always happened. I am ecologically-minded in that all my life I have gardened, avoided chemicals etc. etc.. This has now reached ridiculous 'self-harming' levels.
The Tories weren't elected to impoverish us all. My daughter has a heat-exchanger system and we are always frozen at her house. No, No, No! We emit a tiny quantity of planet-heating and the result will be the same if we go to Hell being comfortable or being miserable. I'd rather be comfortable.
That's the point.
