She's surprisingly active for 95 - now is the time for her to take it a lot easier, bless her.

Sorry if the term Betty offends, it was meant to set the cozy informal and affectionate nature of this thread for a dear and much-loved lady, away from the stodgy pomp which usually surrounds her.
Mozz @ 21.35 , How dare you call her Maj "A lady of leasure"... (Leisure)?
Nor I mozz. :-)
I didn't Gully, I said I wouldn't mind if she wanted to become one (and my spelling is shocking tonight!)
Canary, I would never have said "Betty". I probably would've gone with "Liz" ;-)
21.52 What is a Junilee Mamya ???? please.
It's a typo for Jubilee dear.
Elizabeth has many forms - Eliza, Liza, Lisa, Lise, Betty, Betsy, Bets, Beth, Liz, Lizzy, Elspeth, Else, Elsie, Isabell, Isabella, Isobel, Bella, Aelswith, Ailsa and so forth. I'm unbothered which one she's called.
Unfortunately, I associate Betty with Bette Lynch the Barmaid in Corrie.
oh, and how could I forget Lilibet...
How about Lilybet jno? I bet that becomes popular now!

"I associate Betty with Bette Lynch the Barmaid in Corrie."

She was always, Bet, never Betty. It was Betty Turpin, widow of Cyril the policeman, who made the hotpot.
22.10, Does that mean you pressed the wrong key then , Dear.
I had an Auntie Betty. Her real name was Beatrice, another royal name!
Are we to have an inquest on a typo?

I am partially sighted, yes I pressed the wrong key.

Her Father used to call her Lilibet - "Lilibet is my pride. Margaret is my joy."

I think her family nicknames should remain that - for the family.
Just wondering if Betty Windsor ever made a hotpot!
No idea Lottie but I remember she joined the ATS during WW2,
You think she ever cooked a meal in her entire life?
I'm sure she did Jim. Her offspring do. And so did Philip. I'm sure they all take pleasure in normal things. As Ladybirder points out she was a mechanic during the war years. I'm sure she is a very capable, grounded lady.
