Not being judgemental but there was a party in progress. It only takes a few seconds for a baby/toddler to crawl towards a pool and fall in. Accidents like this happen a lot with babies and water. A child can drown in a few centimetres if they fall face first. All holiday villas here are meant to be fenced but parents can leave a gate open. Here these accidents usually happen shortly after arrival for their holidays while parents are unpacking and kids exploring and some are not babies
It takes very little time for a baby to drown. It takes seconds for them to wonder off and you cant watch every second. And then from running off you have to find them - and sadly it can be too late.
Terrible for the parents, they will never forgive themselves.
I couldn't read all the article but if as calmck says, there was a party going on and they obviously live in a large place, then it probably is more difficult to keep your eye on your child, and they probably thought someone was looking after him. Such a sad thing to happen.
Just to be clear, there was absolutely no mention of a Party going on when the child drowned. It was his birthday -that does not mean there was a party going on.
"The tragedy happened on the Springbok star's 39th birthday, just two days after the child was christened on Sunday, a friend of the family revealed. "
