Who Wants Masks?

Boris announced yesterday that masks are to be made compulsory again in shops. In the summer he said that there would be no going back on the relaxation of measures. Face masks are a complete waste of time given the way that most people wear them so how many will join me in this little bit of civil disobedience and refuse to wear them?

As argued many times it's not masks per se but the way they are used and how they are graded. Useless for 99% of the time.

The belief in the wearing of face masks and belief in gods are analogous - there is no scientific evidence of the efficacy of the former or the existence of the latter, however, some people just need their comfort blankets.
What is the point of being vaccinated three times in seven months if you are going to put your faith in bits of cloth around your face?
And if the new improved variant turns out to be more transmissible do you think that face mask wearing will be successful in stopping it when they have failed to work with existing variants in Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland, all of which have higher rates of infection than England?

The simple answer to the question asked " Who Wants Masks" is no-one wants them but if there is any chance that they may help then we should wear one. Whether they help the wearer or anyone else it's worth it if we can get this under control so we can get back to some form of normality.

There is scientific evidence that face masks reduce transmission... how much they reduce it depends on fabric, correct usage, etc., but there are by now plenty of studies indicating that they DO reduce transmission...

people whingeing about wearing them need to get over themselves...
