it wasn't all that long ago that people (including you i notice naomi!) were spreading sourness about another famous baby being born - lilibet
For goodness sake. We should be talking about a family. Who would have said of poor Arthur Labingo-Hughes "Can't help but feel sorry for the wee mite with that for a father though." ?
Labinjo ^
bednobs, I beg to differ. I thought Harry and Meghan were very wrong to hijack the name, that's all.
ok, but all barsel said was about the name too!
i can quite see how it's different when it's you though ;)
Congratulations Carrie and Boris, welcome to the World little one.
Some happy news, congratulations to the Johnson family.
bednoibs, //ok, but all barsel said was about the name too!

You're quite right. It is different when it's me. Lilibet'e name was announced long after the birth - as this child's will be. I didn't make sarcastic comments on the birth of a new baby simply because I'm not the parents' greatest fan. That, in my opinion, is sour.
they announced the name at the same time they announced she had been born.
On the thread relaying the announcement of the fact she was born https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question1754083.html you DID make a sarcastic comment about the name, nothing nice to say, probably because you dont like the parents. Maybe not though. I mean you called it spreading sourness, not me
Who's the father ?
And people accuse Boris of poor planning.

Rather astute to make a baby in March, so has to keep the sleaze and cover ups off the front pages for one day.
;-/
Too much meanness of spirit on this thread. This little girl was the Johnson's "Rainbow Baby". Have a heart.
bednobs, I said naming the child Lilibet was cringeworthy - and in my opinion it was. Nothing sarcastic about that.
I very much dislike the term 'rainbow baby'.
What does rainbow baby mean, never heard that term?
It’s a baby born after a miscarriage, still birth, etc.
It refers to a rainbow being the light after a storm.
Naomi, if you come back and see this, please look at the link I put on @12.34.
It really wasn't meant to be sarcastic or nasty in any way, it was just my sense of humour.
When their first baby was born and they called him Wilfred, I immediately thought of Wilfred Pickles so I just suggested they call the new baby Mabel after Wilfred's wife.
No harm intended.
Thank you Vagus, I've not heard of that before.
I think it's quite a new term Barsel. I don't like it for many reasons. It's assumptive that a miscarriage is a disaster. My son would have been called a rainbow baby as would thousands of babies.
Yes Lottie, I had a miscarriage between my 1st and 2nd babies which would have been 1978 and hadn't heard of it then. perhaps it's a new thing?
