Mr Javid said on either Thursday or Friday last week that stricter measures would not be considered unless and until hospitalisations increased considerably. Well they haven't. From last Friday to yesterday the numbers in hospital increased by 3.7%. Yesterday the numbers in hospital were 25% lower than they were on 1st November.
//"The most recent government figures show 7,673 people with coronavirus in hospital in the UK, up from 7,365 a week earlier."//
Since we're cherry-picking, on 1st November the number stood at 9.634, 747 higher than the figure seven days earlier. So a rise of 308 in a week has "an impact on hospitals" but a rise of 747 in the same period doesn't.
//...but why is Boris very bad when all he is the "messenger"//
He is not the messenger, jenny. He is the Prime Minister. His job is not to simply pass on the advice of scientists. If it was you could cut out the middle man and simply allow scientists to formulate the response to the pandemic. The government's job is to assess information from all sources.

whatever New Judge - wouldn't have his job for a million pounds a week. And (I'm not in to politics) but who could fill his boots perfectly - either Tory or Labour wise. No Prime Minister has been perfect throughout the years.
Boris should take a hike with Carrie, Wilfrid and new baby down to the local park and enjoy life - I would.

Just read Alison Pearson's column in the D. Telegraph. According to the wife of a chap on SAGE it is pencilled in for 5/1/22 to avoid the emotive Christmas/New Year Season. That's just what I've read.
If true - it is madness. I've just had a rather nice email from my MP, who was one of the honourable Tory MPs who voted 'No' - I had written to ask him to do so and he concurred with my sentiments.
Everyone I have spoken to says we can't go on like this and must just 'get on with things'.

My nephew and American wife after isolating nearly two years with pregnancy and new baby - baby is one tomorrow are absolutely unwell with a very heavy cold - all of them and are miserable and they wouldn't allow anybody into their home - now they are glad of a few visitors - as they are lonely. So there ya go - you're damned if you do lockdown or damned if you don't.
My heart goes out to the young people who don't know where the hell they are. At their age 18-38 - I was having a ball and a fantastic one too.
