Im neither here nor there on this issue but as prison has been mentioned a couple of times re: transgender...
I was locked up in Walton (HMP Liverpool) with a pre-op convict.
Upon his arrival at prison reception, (and during mandatory strip search), dressed as a woman, with obvious breasts, the reception screws called all their mates down for a laugh at the 'freak with boobs and a stick'

I got to know him/her really well.
He tried to cut of his penis as a kid.
He/she always knew that he was born into the wrong body.
BTW she knew that she was going to one of the roughest prisons in the country that day and still attended court as a female.
And that takes some doing)
(The offence was a driving ban btw)
