I'm not really sure how bad she was. Young women were paid to please an older man, on multiple occasions; no force or abuse. Of course, I don't know all the details, so feel free to correct my first impression.

Coercion was used, in which Maxwell exploited her influential position in High Society. A subtle form of abuse/force. 14-year-old girls can be very impressionable.

plea bargains usually come before the trial - too late after the verdicts, she's got nothing left to bargain with.

14 year old females are not what they were in your day. Girl/woman; there's no hard dividing line other than legal definitions. If they were well paid and not subject to coercion (which of course I don't know) then I'm not sure that a decades-long prison sentence is appropriate.

These things are judged differently in different eras and cultures. There is so much sexual information available on the internet that young females are not the little innocents that they once were. And young females at that age are often torents of sexual urges. Of course, they should not be abused or exploited.

For some reason I’m really surprised, I didn’t think she would be found guilty ( too many influential friends ). Justice for women , good .
