I thought they would have waited until the trial is over at least. I wonder if he’s going to agree an out of court settlement?
That would surely show his guilt Naomi , I feel sorry for the Queen in all this
I think the idea is to get him out of uniform before events like Trooping the Colour take Place.
Bhg, he hasn’t attended any formal event for a long time.
With respect, that is not the point, naomi. It is about the Grenadier Guards no longer having Andrew's affiliation before they next troop the colour.

I wonder what happens to his title of KG?
The Most Noble Order of the Garter is an order of chivalry founded by Edward III of England in 1348. It is the most senior order of knighthood in the British honours system, outranked in precedence only by the Victoria Cross and the George Cross. The Order of the Garter is dedicated to the image and arms of Saint George, England's patron saint.
Choux, my point is why is this happening now - before the case has been considered?
PA would have been entitled to attend the Jubilee in uniform as (I think) Colonel In Chief of the Grenedier Guards.

I understand the regiment have let their disquiet be known, and it looks like this is heading off any potential embarrassment.

The Palace needs all the damage limitations it can get!!
I suspect that HRH Prince Charles has had some input. Damage limitation to the noble forces, people and causes with whom Andrew has been affiliated for he will now defend any court case as a private citizen.
I cross-posted with choux, but it appears that the Royal Family distancing which is necessary whatever happens to the court case, has swung into action.
In other words, The Queen is approving and agreeing to this action to avoid further embarrassment. I feel so sorry for HM.
Best to do the spring cleaning now rather than have it festering during her forthcoming celebrations
I'm sure you are right choux.

Charles is increasingly involved in important decisions as time moves on and it is his monarchy he will be looking to protect from the damage done by his insufferable brother.
Choux, I can’t make my mind up whether the very notion of such a charge is deemed to have brought the regiment into disrepute and hence this action has been taken or whether stripping him of his honours indicates an admission of guilt to keep him out of court. What do you think?
Falling on his sword for damage limitation to HM Queen and the House of Windsor
Nothing more

For now !
BBC news is reporting that he will no longer be referred to as HRH and he will defend the case as a private citizen.
I can't think that an American Court will see this development as anything whatsoever to do with the case - why would they?

Andrew has not volunteered to hand over his ranks and patronage - as if!!! - so it can't be seen as any action by him, and so has no bearing on his Court case.
Will they strip him of all his cash in case he has to pay out?
He should now move to Spain like all our other misfits.
Guilty or not guilty, the Grenadier Guards are unhappy to toast him as he’s an unsuitable role model. His very close association alone, with people convicted of child abuse makes him an unsuitable patron.
