A senior Downing Street official warned that the drinks party broke the rules and should not go ahead.
The Prime Minister claims he received no warning.
Sue Grey has ‘obtained’ the incriminating email. Coincidently she interviewed Dominic Cummings yesterday as part of her investigation. Someone has let it be known that she now has the email.

Does she ignore/ downplay the info? Or throw Boris under the bus?

How do you go about deleting e-mails you have sent?

If I send ten people an e-mail, I can delete it from my sent folder – there is no way I can delete it from the recipients in folder.

If the sent e-mails are all internal and on an in-house server, I would need administrative rights to retrieve/delete the e-mail. If someone had copied the e-mail to another location, it would be nigh on impossible to delete it.

Downing Street will have an intranet and only a couple of people will have administrative privileges. Those administrators can clean up all traces of of a message distributed on the system. The crucial thing is that Cummings copied the message months before anyone realised it was damaging and deleted it.
HYMIE, Outlook allows folk to recall e-mails. Sometimes the receiver has read it by the time the mistake has been recognized but it has saved my bacon several times.
But we are talking about e-mails sent weeks, if not months ago – try recalling them.
You didn't mention, "e-mails sent weeks, if not months ago" did you?
