There is no accounting for stupidity - I am reminded of the paediatricians attacked because some people mistook that occupation for paedophiles! That said, it's because some people are so stupid and listen to any old lie that someone like the PM has to be careful with his language. There have been enough MPs murdered in the last few years, on both sides.

The paed who was mistaken for paedophile

Sir Keir Starmer bundled into back of police car after being mobbed by protesters shouting 'Jimmy Savile' at Labour leader
Question Author
No doubt they had several facets to their agenda

Those types of morons generally do
Anti vax
Anti establishment
Anti democracy
Anti social
Yes, Peter, they walk among us still ...
That's the headline but the article begins as I quoted it and even the headline does not imply some were there only to shout about Savile.
I think Momentum were there too...tweeted support for the mob at least.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has been bundled into the back of a police car after being confronted by protesters shouting "traitor" and "Jimmy Savile" at him.

It does now, Corby but why were Sky so remiss with the initial article?
Sky always mention who the protesters are in the headline. Here's some recent headlines.

COVID-19: Water cannon used in coronavirus protests in Brussels as rules tightened again

COVID-19: Anti-vax protests see thousands descend on London to demonstrate against latest virus restrictions

NHS staff protest mandatory jabs

'Kill the Bill' protests ahead of vote in House of Lords

COVID-19: Oxford Street shoppers heckled over face masks as thousands protest coronavirus rules in London

Black Lives Matter: Anti-racism protesters march in UK cities for fourth weekend
I suppose the question is "Who hates Starmer?"
It is probably the extreme left or the extreme right (i.e. the gammon tories who now have a grip on some of the old respectable lot).

Roy; your link seems not to exist. I hope it isn't the birth of a new conspiracy to cancel you!
I'm one step ahead of them.
That's twice on one thread you have come unstuck, Atheist.
Roy, do you think that the right wingers might also hate him?
When looking for culprits it pays to see who benefits from the crime. In this case it's the left or the right, not the middle. Or of course it could be foreign agents who seem to love sowing discord in democracies like ours and strong civilised parts of the globe like Europe.
The fact remains that no politician should be harrassed by the public in such a way, regardless of which party they are a member of. Has nothing been learned from the murders of Jo Cox and David Amess?
Mozz, the only lesson learned is that bad people know that they can get away with murder and become famous.
Oh; and that ship-stirrers can get away with incitement.
ROY, that tweet was from a branch of Momentum, not the national group.
