For naomi to shoot an Islamist terrorist would their greatest fear, because their attempt at martyrdom would have been in vain as it would be negated by being killed by a woman, the greatest of Muslim insults.

I don't think it's a waste of money to ensure justice is served, which it was done by putting them on trial and locking them up, one of them forever and the other for a very long time.

Still, for the record, if the police had killed them, then I obviously wouldn't have had a problem with this either in the circumstances. I just don't see it as a failure that the shots only wounded them, denying their final wish.
