Sorry, I don't have a link, but CNN reporter is walking down a road on the outskirts of Kyiv, showing the remains a Russian invasion column, absolutely decimated by Ukrainian firepower.
They've removed the worst remnants of the carnage, but it's spectacular. Those lied-to poor people.
DANGER, javelin at work :-)

It makes me cringe every time the president comes on and says about how well they are doing, and how the cities haven't fallen because it's only the very beginning of what could be a long conflict. Although i can see why he does it of course, and how important that is

Things are certainly not going the way Vlad had anticipated;

but of things that you say have been largely removed?
i am under no illusion that CNN, BBC, russian news and so on put their own slant on things. I want to believe that russia is not making much progress, but don't know if that's just what i'm being fed (not by you BTW, and make no mistake, i am on your side here)

"I find it difficult to get excited about any news at the moment, Ich. I've no idea what to believe. "
Well of course naomi the big question is what will they try next of course.
"but of things that you say have been largely removed?"
As I posted above, (most of the bodies) have been removed, There was one still on the ground. What remains are the devastated remains of the vehicles, personal effects, etc
As I say, sorry I don't have a link. If you could have seen it you would know what I meant.

Were it only the media then I'd be inclined to agree. But it's also the pretty clear consensus of Western Intelligence services, eg the MOD's regular updates.
Of course, if Russia is prepared to drag this on, and as long as NATO chooses not to commit its own troops, then it's difficult to imagine Russia not winning eventually. But that's a long way off, and when Putin really needs a quick win and hasn't yet got one, I think it's fair to assess that things have not gone his way. The extent to which that's true is harder to know.

Ich, //the big question is what will they try next of course. //
And that is the big question - the most worrying, in my opinion - hence the question I posted the other day.

How far does the world let him go before enough is enough - and once enough is enough, what do we do? The noises he made to Finland and Sweden were truly chilling.
