> Ellipsis. It’s reported that a Tory MP said it but do we know who told the newspaper?
The newspaper reported it was a Tory MP. So either it was a Tory MP, the newspaper lied or the newspaper didn't check its facts properly. The newspaper is the Mail on Sunday. I suspect given the "Lobby pass" story that I linked to at 15:34 (https://pressgazette.co.uk/mail-on-sunday-angela-rayner/) that the source was a Tory MP who spoke directly to the Mail on Sunday's political editor, Glen Owen, who is now maybe in hot water because of it. It is very, very unlikely that the source this time was Labour, so unlikely that it's not even worth debating unless you have some evidence, something more than wishful thinking.
