The newspaper will know, obviously, and equally obviously will not be revealing their source.
In my view the media have behaved shamefully in giving a platform to this odious political backstabbing where a serving MP is held up to ridicule by the papers giving this pointless poisonous guff page room.

The newspaper reported it was a Tory MP. So either it was a Tory MP, the newspaper lied or the newspaper didn't check its facts properly. The newspaper is the Mail on Sunday. I suspect given the "Lobby pass" story that I linked to at 15:34 (https://pressgazette.co.uk/mail-on-sunday-angela-rayner/) that the source was a Tory MP who spoke directly to the Mail on Sunday's political editor, Glen Owen, who is now maybe in hot water because of it. It is very, very unlikely that the source this time was Labour, so unlikely that it's not even worth debating unless you have some evidence, something more than wishful thinking.

Corby, 'scum' wasn't all. Here's what she said.
//"We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute pile... of banana republic... Etonian... piece of scum//

LOL. OK. Well I have got a link. This very thread, where you continue to argue and imply that the story may have originated with Labour, without any evidence or even prior history to back up this theory, when everything printed in the Tory-supporting Mail says that it came from a Tory MP.

Watching snooker tonight, I noticed an attractive referee, and I immediately thought that Angela would fit perfectly into that role. She's tallish and slimmish and got authority when she says '47', and when if she tied her auburn locks up into a chignon she would make me swoon. I'm thinking of becoming a tory and learning how to tweet.
She's now wearing the trousers:
