While Boris's MPs were at home licking their wounds , where was Boris?
He was at Kindergarten teaching kids how to paint .... keeping his head down.. he knew the kids didn't know who he was . They probably thought he had come to arrange a party for them
/This is a massive kick in the up the Gonga for Boris//

keep kicking his Gonga, goo-lee !

500 seat loss- you may have been right all along
The voters of Wandsworth will surely regret voting labour in. The days of them having the lowest council tax in the country are numbered. I don't understand what they were thinking.

P/P 08.19,Not quite 500 seats Peter
The Conservative Party LOST 481 seats at yesterdays election but it should have been 500 as you said. This is a very deep wound to the Tory Party , It will take a long time to recover . Think it's finger pulling time.

Maybe it’s more about the message they wanted to send? Just speculation of course.
//Maybe it’s more about the message they wanted to send?//

In that case they've shot themselves in the foot. They'll be paying more for services but apart from that nothing will change because come the next General Election the Conservatives will still be in government. Some protest.
Then problem is Noami there is no real alternative vehicle for protest for the ordinary working man/woman/other.

Most cant afford to glue themselves to the road, even if they do get free tea and buns from plod.

It's unbelievable that Boris who some look upon as a World Leader who has just lost 481 local council seats gets his crayons out a goes off to nusery school to join the 10 year olds ...While his MPs are in a state of shock
......Unbelievable...
YMB, //Most cant afford to glue themselves to the road//

Those who put Labour in will afford even less now.

That’s odd because on Newsnight last night they said that if the projection was mirrored in a general election that Labour would be in the ascendancy and would have to form a government with the SNP and DUP.
But it’s all speculation of course, we have FPN’s 2.0 and beyond, Starmergate Revisited and Gray in all its glory still to come.
Johnson will be gone way before then, Starmer may have to as well so there’s plenty of room for conjecture and supposition before then.
The Conservatives lost seats everywhere.
They lost 12 councils (7 to Labour, 1 to LibDem and 4 to Indy) and lost 400 councillors.
The opposition: SNP won in Scotland, LibDems the South and Labour in the city boroughs.
Hung parliament/coalition territory in GE.
What are the shares of the vote for Labour and Conservatives for these local elections compared to the last ones and the last general election?
'Massive hammer blow' it was not.
//Hung parliament/coalition territory in GE. //

Not on your nelly! Wishful thinking.
Gorby, could only find this prediction of the vote share as at 6th may:-
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61347764
I would have thought the figures would have been out by now but not been able to find them, thanks anyway.
