2022 Toryies have lost around 500 seats and 11 councils.
which of those 2 years would you consider to be a "drubbing"? It speaks volumes that still Labour can barely lay a glove on the Tories, even mid term post crises. Labour are the ones that should be considering a new path.

You're right There was no drubbing. The limp lettuce leaf that is Starmer is useless. You say that Labour should consider a new path and, again, think you're right. You're right There was no drubbing. The limp lettuce leaf that is Starmer is useless. You say that Labour should consider a new path and, again, think you're right. But really can't see where Labour can go from here. Heading to the Left would be mad (Corbyn) and they can't move to the Centre, ground that is supposedly occupied by Starmer. The only way forward is a new (so-called Progressive), Left, an arrangement between Labour, the SNP, Lib-Dems, the Greens...But it won't work (ask the Lib-Dems about the result of their co-operation with the Tories).
Paigntonian, good answer. BA.
I think they need to split off the loony left element. I can see Starmer is a decent bloke and I think a good half of the party are sensible and decent. They should form a new centre ground party and would probably attract a some of Lib Non Dems and Tories into it. They need a new name and a new fresh approach, A bit like what Blair did but I'd drop the name Labour completely if I was them. People just don't trust Labour historically and I can't see that ever changing. They also need to win Scotland back and a new party may just appeal to the Scots.
