Naomi, I wouldn’t blame him if he did resign either. It’s usually best to cling to a scintilla of self respect in the face of overwhelming evidence and public opinion, not to mention one’s own political party.
once again Labour have been out manoeuvred by the Tories that is why they have been in power for only 24 years out of 122, clueless. I wonder who will fight Boris in 2024, GOAS perhaps.
You can only hope you get your wish, fatti. As I said, good luck.
gness: "Tora. Many of us who have no time for Johnson and his cronies are not lefties. Neither are we rabid. Are you not able to make your point using a better argument than that?" - Just playing on the pitch that's prepared. I'll raise my game when they learn what a lie is and what misleading parliament is. I'll move to a level beyond the ya boo level.
ToraToraTora, do yourself a favour and look at the BBC, Sky News, ITV and any other media outlets that are currently covering this story, then tell me who looks in a state of panic.
The BBC are presently gleaning the headlines from all the front pages of the main newspapers.
The Prime Minister’s version of events are under serious scrutiny, along with his integrity.
Furthermore, many are questioning the actions of the Metropolitan Police and their apparent inaction in respect of the PM.
Combine that with the Prime Minister recently meeting Sue Grey at his insistence and it stinks to high heaven.
If you can’t see that then it’s quite obvious you’re oblivious to everything around you. You’d do well to heed the post by Gness too, labelling anyone with an opposing view to yours as a Lefty makes you look incredibly childish and dreadfully misguided.
I look forward to the move to that level, Tora..... ;-)x
Why do I need good luck Naomi? Are you suggesting that the next Prime Minister will actually be worse than the present one?
It is the British public who need all the luck.
We have a government that is incredibly out of touch with the public and an impending cost of living crisis, with all forecasts for it and the economy to deepen.
The public need politicians and a government that they can trust.
It’ll be eons before we get anything of the sort as a result of the current political crisis.

gness 23:41, me too, when the lefties can get beyond irrelevant trivia it will be great for us all.
House!
Who is donkey? Who is Rodders? A trap like mine? Oh dear, it seems that a reasoned discussion about current political events is beyond your scope and comprehension and throwing insults is in fact your modus operandi when backed into a corner whilst refusing to address what is right in front of you.
Never mind, maybe we can discuss matters another time when you’re a bit more lucid and rational? I live in hope.

If you can watch that 3 minutes 47 seconds from beginning to end, and not see Boris's lies in front of your face, then declare yourself a fanboy/fangirl.
Thanks for that Ellipsis.
That report reiterates the topics discussed here in that even the solicitor cannot understand how or why the Prime Minister escaped a fine for this event.
Interesting link from yours too, that questions the motives for the meeting with Sue Gray and how suspicious it looks amidst claims of influence or a cover up.

Seems the Answerbank and questioning British media alike are infested with rabid Lefties?
The end result of this thread is the usual antagonist is on the naughty step, once again.
How unusual.
No doubt a resurrection will follow.
// Why do I need good luck Naomi?//
because you would be the first to have her take an obvious ( screamingly obvious pun intended) point

and I have to say - as another obvious point- that where stagazer leads, the beeb, Tory Party, hacks follow

(= Starg. was the first to say it)

why wasnt the Big Fella fined?

Party was for someone Boris cdnt stand ( 'fell out with') and Boris was on his way out....( of the room, settle down! ) way out of the room. I think the PM can er credibly argue ( = say and people believe him) that social pressures made him attend. ( = can't/couldnt stay in his boudoir, and shout down the stairs: sod off you!)

there! even the standard AB dum-head should be able to understand that
This is the difficulty of slither-slither and jesuitical fine points ( "I was there but I wasnt, at the same time")

The slithering and sliding is perceived as everywhere - the Met and so everyone asks why the Met didnt act but just sat on its bottom reflecting about racism in the force and other impt things....

There should be an end to all thse things, but what with the lying, there never is.....
or in Latin
interest rei publicae, sit finis ad litium

amidst the AB hub-bubb of wot all dat den, I will holler - the Romans had it right after all ! Up the emperor!
Ah, I see TTT is cancelled by the left. One way of winning an argument I see.
I think Johnson is moving through a live bet that he had with the other Bullingdon Buffoons to see who could get to the highest position in this country whilst taking the pi ss out of the population. Cameron was another.
as good an explanation as any other Clarion
or - - - that is your belief.... ( and it is not obviously counter to the facts)

Who is donkey? Who is Rodders? A trap like mine?
Atticus - this is TTT speak. Actually a lot of the time it doesnt matter. It makes no sense because TTT is wondering on a thread about Boris and his damned lies, not whether BORIS will resign but someone else....no sense, nonsense, yeah got it
The Times is claiming that the Prime Minister tried to get Sue Gray to cancel publishing her report. Why would he do that? Are these the actions of a decent and honourable person who believes in transparency?
