You would think that the British government have got better things to sort, would you not? They are now considering going back to Pounds and ounces.
Have they no Idea or even considered what confusion it will create.

We've been educating kids for god knows how long in kilograms, most older people have got to grips with it or just learned to live with it, so now just throw a spanner in the works.
God knows how much it will cost all sorts of businesses to make changes, an expense most could do without.

My kids could not show you on a piece of paper what six inches is or even a foot. A 'quarter' of sweets gets blank looks and they weigh themselves in kilos not stones. They have grown up with metric and it should stay that way. Another one of bungle bees diversion tactics.

My butcher still sells in lbs and oz, along with metric.
No reason why any outlet that wants to do the same, shouldn't.
I have no idea of my height or weight in metric and my grandchildren birth weights were announced in pounds and ounces as recently as last year

If it's true, they are not going to abolish the metric system - it will just allow market traders for example to sell you a pound of apples.

Most of us brought up with Imperial have been using metric for so long it's easy(ish) to convert. We will all die off sooner or later so the youngsters who have known only metric should not be confused by a return to the past.

Hows it going to cost anything? Millions of pounds worth of scrap scales for one. Plus even more confusion with import and export paperwork.
But some would back any silly idea from Boris. Lets go backwards instead of forward.

most scales do both sandra and it's up to the retailers anyway, not compulsory.

Imports and exports won't be affected. It is only for domestic sales to the end consumer - if the retailer wants to. You can still ask for a kilo of fish
