wonderful, just how lucky we were at the time, even you 5C types she saved though I'd never expect you to realise it. Forgive them Mags for they know not what they do.
Wish we had her today. Poltroons do your worst, a ton of you is not worth an ounce of her.

So do I Tora. So do I.
Coincidentally I've recently been watching "The Crown" and I'm up to the part where TGL has just been asked by Her Maj to form a government. It's very well done and Gillian Anderson plays MT extremely well. Mrs NJ and I almost shed a tear as we recalled that day with utter joy. The relief we felt on that day, when we realised that at last it looked like somebody would rescue us from the utter nightmare that the shambles of the previous few years had become, was indescribable. Yes, the next few years were difficult at times, especially when interest rates hit 15% and we had a hefty mortgage. But it had to be done and we were quite prepared to endure the pain for a longer term gain.
This country now needs another Mrs T. It needs a bloody good shake up because it has descended into a torpid state brought on mainly, though not entirely, as a result of some of the ridiculous measures and practices that followed from the pandemic. Alas I have no confidence that any of the current lot have the vision or the ability to deal with the current malaise. When you look at the way Mrs T sorted the country out, there's nobody that even comes close to her level of determination and grit that we sorely need.
