Agree but if someone wants a nicotine fix, like any drug, they’ll find the money
I disagree. Either ban it altogether - or allow people to make their own choices.

bobs this is about raising the age. Though TBF I'd slap a load more tax on them too.
Question Author
yes naomi but this is a fairly painless way of reducing it. NZ do it apparently.
I think no matter the cost, the money will be found Tora,
I packed in when they hit £2 for 20 , I believe they’re around £11/12 now
I’m not sure I’d call this government “visionary” lol but it’s certainly something I support
I don’t think I they’ll raise the tax just now somehow (!)
It doesn't matter who does it. Unless it's an illegal substance it should be available to any adult who chooses to use it.
That doesn’t make any sense.
We don’t allow children to drive …
See the word 'adult'?
I’m very anti-smoking but slapping an immediate ban on smoking would be wrong for lots of reasons.
I’m Conservative on this issue :-)
Yes cars are available to adults …

They can also be harmful and dangerous …
But it's their choice whether or not to use them... and so it should be for anything that's legal.
England and Wales are two one of the very few countries where 16 year old can legally smoke in public (Scotland and N.I it is 18).
Several countries have 21 as the minimum age to buy them.
Question Author
I wouldn't ban it, that would be wrong but phasing it out this way is fairly painless.
... "visionary government"

Sorry, I couldn't read the article through the tears of laughter. I'm not sure if Tora's being ironic or has genuinely lost the plot.
I can never get my head around the fact that we are content to allow our young men and women to die for their country, but object to them choosing whether or not to smoke.

Some countries have a ban that increases year-on-year. New Zealand.

I heard a feature about disposable vapers. Apparently the nicotine content can be 20-40 times the level of cigarettes, leading to addiction and health issues very quickly.
Why not legalise all drugs, Ken?
A lot of vapers choose nicotine free, drm
