Nothing to do with political affiliations Tora, but considering how you tend to talk to anyone with a different political stance to your own (Remoaner/5C/Nasty Left etc) it is quite amusing to see you get all flustered over what was intended as a joke.

It's not being humourous to call someone who's acting a plonker (that being the politest term one might use) a plonker. And no we don't expect him to act sensibly regardless how unsuccessful, or otherwise, he is. However he has to act in a manner that takes his supporters with him if he is to remain in position, and bringing NATO into the conflict would be a strong incentive for others to decide to replace him. Nigh on all the most powerful nations taking military action against one's own nation should cause any general to reassess their nation's best option in the circumstances. And destroying the human race isn't something any government should tolerate.
