Thats sometimes claimed but is there any evidence of that?
And in the scheme of things does it make much difference out of £150 billion or whatever pa.
We would probly have to double it to £300 billion before it would feel enough

The NHS is broken, it needs drastic reform but no one is willing to do it.
No amount of money would solve it, everytime more money is given a fair bit just ends up in management/admin not where it is needed.
Until it collapses under the weight of useless and greedy management noting will be considered, and then it will be too late.

Underfunding and understaffed and long waiting lists, the NHS has reached a crisis in its history and maybe a debate needs to be had about what a reliable and fit for purpose service looks like for the future. For a start how about devolution with the regions having total control of management and budgets to be able to deliver their own good service?.
//Does anyone remember a programme quite a while back when a businessman walked around a hospital and pointed out so much that was wrong to do with efficiency improvements and he found out such a lot.//
Yes... maybe the NHS needs some management/business consultants like say KPMG to do a detailed review and come up with efficiency improvements and reorganisation/transfamation. Has that ever been tried?

//This week I have had to go to 4 different hospitals, 4 different appointments, 4 completely different places………. Ridiculous!//

There are some admin things that just cause me to scratch my head. For exampleL
1) for a recent appointment I was sent a big several pages form to fill in with all sorts of health details, lifestyle, medications, past ops and I were told to bring with me to the appointment. but when i got there I wasnt asked for so i offered it and they said we dont need it.
2) I got notified of an appointment by phone for a procedure (maybe theyd had a cancellation). The procedure was a few day's later and went well. But about 5 days AFTER the procedure I recieved a big information pack in the post confirming my appointment and various booklets about the procedure, what to expect, forms to fill in ect
