Boris is backing Liz Truss because he knows, and she knows ,that she will cock it up. Then Boris mysteriously gets re-elected to PM again.
Be it Truss, or Boris [again ] it will be the Demise of the Tory Party at the next G/E.

Paigntonian //Crazy: The Tories won't lose the next GE. Idiots think it's a level playing field. It isn't. The Tories have a 80-seat majority. It will take a very large swing to dislodge them.// Indeed. I mean, it’s not like there’s been any indicators in the last 3 record breaking and loss making by-elections for the Conservative party, has there?

Not, for a single second, comparing Boris to Churchill. But, having lost in '45 against all expectations, Labour lost seats in '50 and lost power in '51. Boris is not finished.

15.37 Actually I was thinking of leaving A/b myself when Boris has finally gone. I do realise that I will be missed by a lot of my friends on here , but there will be no need for a leaving party, as I realise most of you will be in a state of shock when it happens.

Gull: Where your half-baked 'argument' fails is that, according to your bizarre logic, Sunak will/perhaps also fail in your time machine. And there's nothing at all 'mystethe Tories led byrious' about the possibility of Boris having a future in politics. Why shouldn't he? People don't have to vote for him. For goodness sake understand that a large section of the electorate voted for the Tory Party under his leadership once and may do so again. The sneering is getting tiresome. He is an elected MP with a huge following and let's see what happens...
paigntonian 16:27, Bang on.

Tora: Cheers mate. Anyone who thinks Boris is 'dead' is an idiot. As the man might say: They're a carbuncle, a wort, a strange affliction known only to higher powers. They're an affectation, a confection, a low tide carrying only weed and effluent from distant shores, attracted only by our our blessed isles of light and harmony and some jolly good tele and music and all that stuff.
Lordy, we have another one! Lol.

16.20,Although the Tory Party have a huge majority it's no good to them. The British public are fed up with the Tory Lies, the scandals , the greed of Boris and his cronies and the (up yours) to the working class
who are struggling with the cost of living and the rising cost of fuel, and electric etc. Then they read today about Tory treasury Minister Richard Fuller in his second job who is paid £80.000 a year by 3 security Companies for a total of 8 hours work a month as an adviser/ chairman. That's the sort of thing that will finish the Tories at the next G/E.

Fatt: Yep. Wallow in your out-dated notions of Left and Right. They're a mirage. Have the Tories been more brutal in their treatment of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers than Brown or Blair, Cameron or May? No. Did Labour de-privatise or re-nationalise? Not a single thing. Did the Tories privatise the NHS. No. It's all very silly. The only thing that matters is results. Like supporting Ukraine (which I'm sorry to say has been much-neglected in the media over the last week). The utterly astonishing furlough scheme that resulted in MORE people employed that before Covid. Labour know they're over. That's why they have tacitly accepted there will have to a so-called 'Left Alliance' to beat the Tories and why several of their robots have been saying, for the last two years, that they wanted to see PR. A Damascene conversion indeed. In case you didn't notice, there are no Socialists any more.
Gulliver: I'm on a very nice Pinot, there's no general election tomorrow and my lasagne is a little disappointing. Have a nice evening.
paigntonian 17:15 bang on once more, I'd give you BA for that.
Tora: Cheers.

17.23 TTT you ain't got the power to give anyone best answer on this thread ,,,because it ain't your thread so...... ** yours
Fatt: Don't know how old or experienced you are but if you're really so silly as to think three by-elections signal anything then books on British history are available.
if you had an ounce of guts you'd give BA to paigntonian.
Fattipoltroon, 3 bye elections mid term! PMSL! Labour haven't got a prayer no matter who leads the Tories!
Aye, we heard you.
Gull (and others): It matters not one jot if Labour are 11 per cent ahead in the polls (or 11 per cent behind). There ain't no general election. What's hard?
