Boris Ain't Demob Happy Yet.
Boris is backing Liz Truss because he knows, and she knows ,that she will cock it up. Then Boris mysteriously gets re-elected to PM again.
Be it Truss, or Boris [again ] it will be the Demise of the Tory Party at the next G/E.

Paigntonian //Crazy: The Tories won't lose the next GE. Idiots think it's a level playing field. It isn't. The Tories have a 80-seat majority. It will take a very large swing to dislodge them.// Indeed. I mean, it’s not like there’s been any indicators in the last 3 record breaking and loss making by-elections for the Conservative party, has there?

//With Boris returned they'd have much more chance of retaining the government than any (most ?) other leader I can think of. But time enough yet for the new one to prove (or otherwise) their abilities.//
Lol, utterly deluded.
The public wouldn’t fall for not stand for it again.
They’ve had enough of the parties, lies and covering for sexual predators.

“Then Boris mysteriously gets re-elected to PM again”
It would certainly have to be pretty mysterious: the next PM is also forced to resign and BJ stands for the leadership again, miraculously regaining the trust of the scores of MPs who have just rejected him.
And all before the next election in less than two years!
A reminder that essentially Johnson did not have to depart because of disagreement on policy

//He didn’t actually say it, but at the end of his speech yesterday he made a reference about tax which appeared to disagree with sunak.
Who was sitting on the front bench maybe 2 persons away from Boris………… truss. ?//
I would have said 2 spaces away, not persons.
Dorries isn’t a person, she’s a doe-eyed, fawning flunky masquerading as a government minister.
Did you see how she pretty much barged everyone out of the way as Johnson left the chamber, chasing after him like some sad, lonely mad cat woman, desperate just to even touch the object of her maniacal affections.

FatticusInch, worth noticing that your critisisms of BJ were pretty much unrelated to the job and so are likely to be short term annoyances resulting in acting in haste and regretting later when it's realised what was actually achieved.
All of that is pretty irrelevant. It's the ability to govern effectively, especially when under fire, that has value. Hopefully the country won't regret whichever candidate takes over from him, but if they do they may realise what an error removing BJ had proved to be.
